From the moment Nellie was adopted by Allison Riebel, she realised how much she loved food. Nellie is more dog-like than cat-like and will do anything to get her paws on some tasty treats. Her parents have even been able to teach her some cool new tricks using her love of food as an advantage.
She loves her cat food and she loves her cat treats. We use her love of snacks to practice learning tricks. She’s become good at sit, high five and loves to play fetch.
Allison decided to treat her fellow volunteers from the Wildlife Medical Clinic at the University of Illinois to some homemade cookies. Knowing how much Nellie loves treats, she decided to seal the cookies in a Tupperware container to prevent any attempt at her getting to them.
Nellie somehow managed to get hold of the container, get inside, and take a bite of every single cookie inside.
Nellie somehow opened the container and took all the cookies out and onto the floor. The funny thing is I know she took them all out separately because if she had just knocked them out of the container, the cookies would have broken. But they were spread out across our dining room floor with little bites out of each.
Allison discovered this after hearing a noise and apparently looked very proud of what she had just done and didn’t seem the least bit apologetic. If you have any cool or funny cat stories, feel free to send them over to us and we may feature them on the blog.
